Pros

Nothing good about this company.

Cons

HORRIFIC LEADERSHIP - These idiots have no clue what they're doing, are horrific leaders, and don't trust anyone. They only care about money, blame everyone but themselves, and get rid of a lot of people without much thought. This has led to a high churn rate and a broad sense of insecurity. ZERO WORK/LIFE BALANCE - I literally work all day (from 8am to 1am) every day since we have offshore dev teams that need to be managed, and I've missed a lot of family and social events. CRAPPY PAY - If you average out the number of hours I work with my pay, I probably make about $5/hour. EXPENDABLE - People are expendable, there's very little room for advancement, and management generally doesn't care about you.

Pros

- Some great benefits - Really amazing talent - Great projects - Project managers are great and work hard - Unlimited PTO (if you can get away from a project long enough) - Remote work (some people just suck at it, though)

Cons

- Terrible management - Culture is lacking - Ideas and suggestions are not listened to in the slightest - Recent upper management promotions have been laughable or wrong moves (and it shows). - That really amazing talent that I mentioned does not get the recognition it deserves. - Project managers are pushed beyond limits with 50-70+ hour work weeks - People are let go without warning or project considerations - Possible financial issues with a lack of incoming contracts - I don't know of anyone that has gotten a raise within 3 or 4 years - Company seems off the rails 80% of the time or flying by the seat of their pants.

Mobomo Response

We appreciate your feedback and concerns. Last year Mobomo had its most profitable year in company history by focusing on lean business practices and client specific needs, and we have already hit our sales growth goals for 2018. Growth is hard and we had to make difficult decisions in our staffing model. Additionally, Mobomo's initiative to deploy a company-wide system of recorded and measurable accountability for engineers and management is soon to be completed. We wish you the best in future endeavors.

Pros

I worked at Mobomo full time for over a year. Over the course of that year, I learned more about software and agile management from practical experience than I could have in many other places. I was encouraged to learn and grow by having consistent opportunities to pursue my interests and my feedback was always taken seriously. Executive leadership was also very present and added to the very progressive and accessible feel of the company. It's very rare to be able to work daily with a CEO of a company and that level of mentorship is valuable. There is constant support from your colleagues and management which is a godsend in such a fast paced and growing environment. The team at Mobomo is very close and treated each other like team mates than anything else. I genuinely loved going into work everyday because of the fun and open work environment that also knew how to get work done. We were never micromanaged, even to the most junior levels which emphasized the company's trust in our abilities. You own your work (big pro) so work smart and it definitely pays off. More pros - Free lunch in the office - Professional development available - Swag - Macbooks - Flexible remote work - Flexible PTO - Near metro - Coffee, coffee, coffee

Cons

You can feel overloaded with projects as the hiring is not at the same speed as the incoming contracts so this job is not for everyone. To counter this, everyone wants you to be successful so as long as you're willing to ask for help you'll be ok. Hours may be long sometimes but time flies. This is not a place where reviews are standardized. You have to be proactive and get frequent feedback from management.
