Pros

-Hourly pay isn't terrible and get paid whether or not you are busy -Paid travel if you're the head acupuncturist

Cons

-Management apathetic about workers wellbeing and job security: hours constantly cut, no breaks during 10 hour shifts, expected to see 6+ patients an hour uncompensated training -Skills as acupuncturist used as marketing material but you sign a contract saying you'll use only their strategies, which are designed for speed rather than effectiveness and only interact with patients using their script, not allowed to make any other suggestions to help patients improve -No opportunity for career growth (yet), no benefits

Pros

Hourly pay whether there are patients or not.

Cons

Poor communication and scheduling. I was full time to part time to no hours with no communication why. When I was there I was expected to work 10 hours with not proper lunch break. I couldn’t even break to use the bathroom

Pros

great co-workers, interacting with patients

Cons

Very small commission on sales, high pressure to sell. Transparency and trust lacking. Retaliatory management practices. No scheduled lunch or breaks on long days. Walk in clinic policy made for unpredictable clinic days. No one actually gets fired as far as I can tell, just "unscheduled." Any clinic performance problems were blamed on employees. We did not have work emails, so you'd get work emails on your personal one. I never had any one on one meetings with supervisors. Other Zen Advisors I worked with were constantly worried about being scheduled for enough time. There was always one too many of each part-time person in each position which created a very scarcity-based work environment.
