Avoid this place like the plague.

Pros

Company matched 401k, health insurance, it's a job in a place that doesn't have many other job options, bonuses, some coworkers are nice

Cons

This place looks normal from the outside looking in. In reality, the management is horrible. The management style is something straight out of the 1950s. One manager is passive aggressive and another is just aggressive. Both micromanage every single thing because they don't trust employees to do their jobs. Management picks one or two people at a time to bully and berate -- sometimes literally yelling at an employee in front of everyone. Very unprofessional and shows what they think of the people working for them. Their website paints an idyllic picture of employee camaraderie but it's completely out of date and untrue. Employees aren't allowed to play video games together on lunch breaks, even though they specifically say this on their website. BBQs rarely happen and are discouraged from happening too frequently. Employees that socialize outside of work hours are scrutinized with suspicion. They say the work is "big-city caliber" but they barely have any clients that would be recognized outside of central Pennsylvania. The work is repetitive and unchallenging, every day is the same as the day before. They say they offer flextime but it's the most rigid flextime I've ever heard of. They make it seem like you can set your own hours as long as you get your work done, but that's not how it really is. If you work 40 hours a week, it's not enough for them -- even if you're getting all your work done. They expect you to work 50+ hours a week but there's no incentive to do so. The bonuses offered are meager and completely subjective, but they constantly use bonus money as a carrot and a stick -- work longer or you'll get a lousy bonus. The health insurance plan is awful. They do pay the bulk of it, but it's still a lot of money taken from the employee's paycheck, with extremely high deductibles. In short, it's a toxic work environment and management seems blissfully unaware that they're the ones creating it.

Good pay, depressing work environment

Pros

This employer offers competitive pay for their region, semi-annual bonuses, 401k and medical/vision insurance. There are also several company outings each year.

Cons

This company has a depressing work environment with a lot of distractions and oppressive job scheduling. They also use really outdated tech for a company that does a lot of web design, and the promises that are made when they are hiring you are never fulfilled. Expect your work day to be full of distractions that make it nearly impossible to complete assignments on time, as well as management and account executives that are not at all knowledgeable about internet technology, compounding the frustrations that you will face on a day-to-day basis.
