Pros
- They hire people regardless from which university you are from. I know that some places don't hire from LIU for example (which is insanely discriminatory), and I was glad to see that there was a mix of universities. - MY salary was okay (just okay, not great, not good, just okay). And they had the standard schedule of 9-5, some companies in Lebanon tend to have ridiculous work hours so it's cool that they didn't have that.
Cons
-In some cases, they adhere too much to hierarchy (many juniors complained that communicating with higher-ups is not allowed for some reason when I was there). In other cases, they toss it out the window when it comes to accountability. Rather than asking the manager why a project is behind, for some reason the blame ONLY lies with the rest of the team. HR, who should be promoting a positive attitude, use harsh tone and language. We were threatened by managers and HR with our salaries and jobs. I personally was told I was useless. - You get fixed lunch time and fixed break time. If you come in late or spend too much time smoking, it gets deducted from your salary. If you leave late,r nothing happens. They had us install productivity tracking software during WFH, because they thought the reason projects were behind is because people weren't working. They were, they just weren't that productive because of messy management, poor requirement planning, and just a general lack of motivation (why would I work on something when I know the requirements will change tomorrow? or that my boss won't appreciate it anyways?) - You pay for coffee - They forced us to go to the office during the pandemic and threatened us by saying we'd get half the salary if we worked from home. They also told us we were lucky to make our money in USD (which everyone in the company was at the time)- this email was from the CEO himself! - The quality of the technicalities depends on your team, as the teams are pretty isolated (no company tech stack, which sucks). Some teams have a great tech stack, and some are using outdated libraries. - Their salaries are in LBP now, which makes no sense for an international company. Raises just don't happen...
