Great team, fascinating work and plenty of opportunity for professional development

Pros

The best team I've had the pleasure of working with. The people at Moonshot have an amazing variety of experience and really look out for each other. The work is varied, fast paced and incredibly interesting. The benefits package is excellent and includes ample leave, health care and development opportunities such as conferences and training. There's even a budget available for any staff who want to carry out their own research and development projects.

Cons

As with a lot of companies there are 'crunch times' at Moonshot that may lead to you working a some lates and weekends. There have also been a few phases of rapid expansion that can be a bit chaotic but we've always come out them a better organisation.

Pros

You get to spend your time with smart (and kind, funny etc) people devising and implementing clever solutions to real-world problems, sometimes using the best tech available, other times using common sense and hard work; usually a bit of both. The hierarchy is pretty flat, you have responsibility and influence at every level, the snacks are top notch and you get plenty of holidays (you just have to remember to take them).

Cons

Working in a place that's growing quickly is exciting and challenging in equal measure. The need to hit the ground running means sometimes training is forgotten and roles aren't properly defined. If you're someone who's good at speaking up about things like that, you'll be fine.

Pros

Interesting and meaningful projects, plenty of autonomy from day one, open & friendly culture. Monthly R&D sessions are great! Plenty of leave (and reminders to use it all!), excellent welfare team, regular (virtual) social events.

Cons

High expectations of all staff and occasionally high workload may be overwhelming but being honest if you're struggling is encouraged - the team are very understanding about family commitments etc.
