Pros

Nice offices, 1hr lunch (if you have time to take it).

Cons

Staff is cliquey. Those who have been there longer seem threatened by new employees. Some blatantly ignore you, training is limited (too busy). They leave you in (avoidable) compromising situations to seemingly enjoy watching you fail. They are too over-loaded with work to plan any productive team building projects. They are growing too fast - understaffed and the workload distribution is poorly organized. They seem to enjoy watching others fail, instead of being a good team and promoting mutual respect and cooperation. No team spirit. The owners/ceo don't seem to have a clue or seem to care as to what's going on in their own company - as long as the money is still coming in. Staff is disrespected by upper management and it trickles down the food chain - it is generally "understood" that this behavior is acceptable, and if you don't build "a thick skin" and suck it up, they will tell you that "this is the type of industry" it is and if you don't like it, you can leave. The benefits are pricey, and public transport is a no-go (not near a metro and slow/packed bus service. You can take the train but it's expensive) - car needed, even if you live on the island.

With every company, there are good fits and bad fits between co-workers and with management. At Moose Knuckles, we have a fast-paced, energetic, demanding and exciting work environment; we know it’s not for everyone. When it doesn’t work out with someone, we hope to part on good terms; we often go above and beyond to help any of our fellow Moose tribe members both during and after their employment with us. We’ve experienced tremendous growth over the last few years; sales are way up and so is hiring. Part of our process in nurturing that growth is to cultivate talent that embraces the challenges and opportunities it represents. Moose tribe members can look forward to travel opportunities within Canada and to the US, Europe and Asia, depending on the position. We recently flew many members of our Montreal team to Milan for our international sales meeting and Milan fashion show. We offer many benefits, including parking and health plans. As often as possible we promote from within, and there are opportunities, depending on eligibility, to spend time working out of our New York and Milan offices. We are a play hard, work hard Tribe who give it our all. We have a KILLER time together making s--t happen and fueling one of the fastest international growth rates in fashion today, all headquartered here in Montreal. We are always looking for people who are smart, vibrant and engaging, and who can bring their talents to bear on the Moose Knuckles fashion stage, which is international in scope and growing by leaps and bounds around the world in ever-expanding product categories.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE! Toxic work environment.

Pros

Beautiful brand new office. Free coffee. Standing desks, and lots of windows. Employee discounts. Mac computers are provided to the design team.

Cons

Upper management bullies their subordinates and demonstrates zero empathy. The company is restructuring, so many of the original employees have been fired (some illegally) to make room for new high-paid executives. Toxic work environment/company culture. Promotions are not offered internally. Communication breakdown runs rampant. Many employees are disgruntled &/or suffering from stress-related illnesses. Upper management shows little regard for the well-being of employees. Mental health is not taken seriously. Extremely stressful company to work for. Illegal practices are covered up to hide the truth from the outside world. Zero job security.

You have to love being gaslit

Pros

Free jacket after two months

Cons

This place taught me the definition of gaslighting. Management is vague and unclear and makes you feel like you’re the problem not the vague direction. Most toxic environment I’ve ever worked. Run don’t walk away from here
