Creative-minded workplace, but gross overworking.

Pros

The people are great, and the team that I worked with was excellent. A good place to work with creative-minded people.

Cons

The management is horrible. Micromanaging down to the minutes, and bad planning. Expect a lot of overtime, working past midnight, and no compensation on top of the lacking pay nor appreciation for the work that does get put in. Skipping lunches, and getting gastric is considered normal. For a company that harps on about its cultures and values, it doesn't mean anything if it doesn't take care of its employees.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to write this insightful review through Glassdoor. Since we were not established in this platform, it did not come to our attention as sooner as we would have hoped for. We have always valued our strong team who have always been and still are our backbone in creating thoughtful stationery products. It is unfortunate to know that our gratitude and sincerity towards the team was not clearly communicated and recognized. However, we consider this as part of our experience to learn and grow as we strive to become better versions of ourselves everyday. We deeply value our team's efforts in delivering a quality Mossery experience. Hence, we have revised and updated our overtime policy to ensure that our team is well compensated for their time. We also conduct daily team lunches and find opportunities to spend more meaningful time together through monthly team activities. We are grateful to have a vibrant working environment and create a strong two-way communication through 1:1 meetings to check in with the team regularly. Nevertheless, it is still great to hear that you enjoyed the company of our team. It would have been great if we could have this discussion during your time with us. Unfortunately, even though we had to part while being unknowing to your concerns, we are sincerely grateful to you for having been a part of the Mossery Team. Should you seek for more discussion or clarifications, please feel free to email us at careers@mossery.co. We would be happy to connect with our past teammates.

Pros

Some team members were friendly and supportive. Creative work environment and aesthetic products. Attractive commissions

Cons

Strong sense of favoritism in the workplace; certain employees received unfair advantages or were shielded from accountability. A senior manager frequently spoke negatively about team members, creating a toxic and distrustful atmosphere. Some senior employees engaged in unprofessional behavior, including taking over customers I was assisting, which directly impacted my commissions. The company was inconsistent and unclear about working hours. Initially, a memo suggested that staying longer was acceptable, but once management noticed employees doing overtime (to help with high customer volume or assist colleagues), a sudden memo would be issued via WhatsApp discouraging it. This inconsistent messaging created unnecessary stress and confusion. Concerns were often dismissed, and communication felt one-sided or disrespectful. Close personal ties within upper management appeared to influence decision-making, affecting fairness and professionalism. Feedback was not welcomed; instead, employees were made to feel guilty or silenced. Schedule are often being revised, hence this will keep us all to be alert and act as "back-up" in case someone could not make it to work, which will interfere with our daily plans
