Unbelievably Frustrating

Pros

Truly some of the best creative minds, kindest people, and most collaborative team(s) I have ever worked with.

Cons

This has been the most disappointing place I have ever worked. Despite a great number of committed, brilliant, and talented employees who truly wish to see the company grow, upper management lays a heavy, dated, and irrelevant hand on them, blocking progress and crushing morale. Nearly all of us are actively seeking employment elsewhere within a year of being here. Many members of upper management are here only because of nepotism, favoritism, or because they refuse to share important information relevant to their position, making replacing them difficult. Many of them are lifelong friends and will give each other anything they ask for, regardless of the strain it places on other employees or departments, or whether it's a good business decision. Bob Wilson is no longer the CEO, he was forced to step down 2 years ago and one of the investors has been interim CEO ever since. He is kind and smart, but struggles when it comes to the long-standing executive employees manipulating him getting what they want. As the company grew, procedures were not adjusted, and the systems currently in place are in no way capable of handling the volume they are trying to push through. In an understandable effort to increase revenue, they consistently take on large clients and projects without any framework in place to handle them, causing significant frustration to the employees who have to do the work. Nearly every person in the company is overworked and underpaid, with every department understaffed and stressed. One department specifically had extremely unrealistic expectations, formally writing every member up for very seriously EVERY mistake they make, thinking this would motivate them to perform better, even though they consistently come in as the department with the fewest mistakes in the company, almost always with literally none. HR is sneaky and unprofessional, frequently sharing your concerns or personal disclosures with members of management or coworkers, with your identity attached and without necessity. We have seen lists of employees in trouble or to be terminated just sitting on the printer. There is little to no room for advancement, mostly because the company is small and doesn't have the resources to promote people to higher pay grades.

No vision. Mismanaged. Don’t do it.

Pros

Not many, honestly. If you have a vision, don’t work here.

Cons

Mismanaged company with little to no vision. Company is in a poor financial position, grasping for straws to try to pull out of it. Turns a blind eye to employees who don’t do anything (don’t show up on time, employees with visible signs of drinking on the job, managers who rarely are actually at the office get rewarded, etc) yet employees who do the most work are often not appreciated. Most employees are severely underpaid, overworked and under appreciated.
