Pros

Insane project diversity (autonomous vehicles to custom consumer electronics to aerospace), small team collaboration (ME/EE/Fab), start to finish project involvement, hands on, super creative/smart team, great perks & workspace, high focus on team members.

Cons

This is not the right place for everybody. Pace is fast, quality expectations are high, and deadlines sometimes stack up (nature of project work). Projects can be fuzzy and it's on the team to find clever solutions.

Tons of Learning and Fantastic People

Pros

* Fantastic people * Healthy Company Culture * You'll Learn Something New Weekly and Will Have Tons of Responsibilities and Ownership * No Company Politics * Good Profit Sharing

Cons

* Base Pay is Low (compared to other offers that the average Motivo employee can get). I took Motivo over higher offers and do not at all regret it * With higher responsibilities and ownership comes higher hours. The median week was 45-50 hrs, but there are projects that will demand much more. * Pretty flat hierarchy, so not a huge opportunity for promotions, though that's expected of a smaller company

Pros

Seeing a project through it's entirety at Movio shares the same feeling as being within a startup. From market research and trade studies, through architectural and systems definition, finalizing in development and deployment; each employee takes part in a cradle-to-grave product development ecosystem. You can find multiple projects developing concurrently under Motivo's roof that range from mobility to consumer products to connected devices. The size of the team (35~ employees) lends itself to intimate collaboration and facilitated idea transfer. Roles in projects usually span major subsystems (Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Software), so involvement and ownership are important traits.

Cons

Multiple, high intensity projects can lead to long work hours and high expectations. Do not expect working here as an engineer to be a 8AM to 5PM job. Many of the employees who work here pull long hours. Expect your work ethic to be compared accordingly.
