Pros

Motivosity is a cool product that is fun to sell. The vision of the company is great. There is a lot of excitement when you first start. You can feel the energy in the office

Cons

Leadership promotes a toxic culture. I am not sure how certain leaders are still there. There are a lot of unhappy employees and a lot of people have recently left due to work overload and unclear expectations especially when it comes to career opportunities. I feel that more are soon to follow. Motivosity's vision is to "make employees happier to be at work" but the actions of internal leaders have had the opposite effect. The honeymoon phase of Motivosity wears off very quickly once you start to see everyone's true colors. I would recommend looking at other great tech companies nearby.

Bit of a Sinking Ship

Pros

It’s a fun industry to be in—I loved having conversations about how to love people better at work. It’s easy to get re-invigorated at a show, presentation, or on a sales call with someone that recognizes the potential impact of helping their team feel seen/heard/appreciated. A great mission and a good product. There are some lovely people there.

Cons

Lip Service is more of a company currency here than “Motivosity Bucks”. There’s a my-way-or-the-highway policy that cascades from the tippy top, and an absolute abandonment of data-driven decision making, at least where sales is concerned. Over a third of the entire US team that was there when I started is now gone—I’m being conservative. That’s not people skipping out on a whim, that’s their passion and commitment to building something worthwhile (for less money, mind you) being crushed slowly out of their hearts. The expectations, goals, and bars for sales were set so far from the current reality that it stirred up anxiety, panic attacks, and mental health episodes for more than one colleague (and myself).

Pros

The idea and philosophy of the software is really cool and people can FEEL that there is a need for it. Which makes it great to demo. Conversations with prospects are always fun and engaging as well.

Cons

- Toxic work culture where manipulation is encouraged - We don't use our own product to its capabilities - Complete lack of diversity and respect around others values - Leadership often overlooks downward trends in culture and engagement - Unrealistic quotas and goals - If you want to make money this is not the place for you
