Pros

I was manipulated so nothing good about the place

Cons

I had the worst manager anyone could work with. An extremely abusive and condescending manager which would show signs of passive aggressiveness. For example, if I request leave or ask to work from home he wouldn’t response. He even told me I had to go into the office even if I completely lost my voice. There’s a obvious reason why he can’t manage a team in Melbourne and former employee has left his team. He had severe control issues, and struggled to trust his team to perform the job effectively as a result he would watch my every move move through google docs and sales force. This of course, can make you feel anxious or resentful. During training he would not let me ask any questions, rolled his eyes and would get fustrated if he felt like he would get interrupted, within 3 weeks he would start micro managing my work and expecting me to complete tasks within a specific timeframe and expected it to all be accurate. Think about it if a surgeon is performing a operation and there’s a psychotic manager over their shoulder watching their every move, the surgeon is bound to do a mistake. Anyone could agree a micro managing manager that watches ur every move every time ur doing your work for I.e watching you action spread sheets through google docs is crazy no one would deal with that but I did. It affected my mental health but I stayed because the CEO approached me and told me they know what this manager is like nothing surprises them and he wants to put me at “ease”. Sadly I realised when it was too late that the CEO manipulated me and played me. He kept me there for 5 months ( only one month left until my probation ends) He acted like he protects me and cares but played me. Then last minute , they randomly pulled me into the office and said u deleted few emails on sales force ( I did this because I was scared I feared my job would be at loss since this abusive manager told me already he doesn’t want to work with me and I’m not fit for the jobs) which this CEO was aware and in response he said it was so wrong of the manager to say this. Due to this I deleted the email as there was an option and so the manager doesn’t see I did a mistake. The CEO ddnt even want to hear my reason and said cya and the whole meeting went for 5 min. He got up ddnt care ended my probation even though I told him I did it because I was scared and what surprises me is that he knew what the manager was like but he ddnt care this time. Ddnt give me a chance or a warning just kicked me out. On the same day couriers came to my house took my lap top, PC and work immediately logged me out of everything and all chats so I don’t collect Evidence. They were only nice to me because they had to protect the company even though they know the manager was abusive. Now I have severe depression, anxiety and my manager has seriously affected my mental health. I left my old job because I though I was blessed with an amazing opportunity. I was wrong.

I'm really sorry to hear you had a negative experience working at Moula. The business is growing rapidly and has evolved a lot in the past 12 months in particular. It is important for everyone to feel they can call out inappropriate behaviour and we ensure the managers are well trained to support their teams.

Pros

Great Team Fantastic Working Environment No limits to learning possibilities Really good career advancement if you are willing to jump in and try No day is ever boring

Cons

Not a standard 9 to 5. Job description is a fairly fluid and organic concept open to change and interpretation. Start up with all the risks and rewards associated with that.
