Pros

Cool office (that they don't own)

Cons

The company went from being really fun to work at, to very stressful. When I left there were tons of unanswered unopened messages from customers, with no real plans to tackle them. Even the owner has been in the press talking about how Moviepass doesn't have enough people to answer customers. Moviepass has the money and ability to do a WAYYYYY better job at being responsible to customers but they choose not to. The CX team is like the diamonds on dodoo lol. They give this feeling to superiors that they are doing things, they are "trying" to fix issue, when realistically, if you could compare the amount of CX to the customers, you'd see its barely a drop in the bucket. -- Its very sad. Moviepass was very secretive about hourly pay between FT and PT employees. This helped lead to a faction between the FT and PT employees. FT team often engaged in micromanaging and gossiping about PT employees they didn't like. PT employees who never did anything wrong but ones who had personalities that didnt meet the FT CX team expectations. You would think with all the negative things going on at this company the FT and PT team would stick together and be united .. but no. The FT team believes there better &/or more dedicated. Half of the PT team tries to keep there head down because they are hungry to get different positions as the company grows, stock options and likeness from FT and management, though they should be speaking out about whats right and wrong. When hired you'll be asked if you have a computer or laptop at home. They lead you to believe you can work from home but no that's just incase there's absolutely no way you could work from the office. They want you to come into work even when the weather is horrible because they don't want to turn off investors who would believe the CX team doesn't work. They try to maintain an illusion of control so there investors won't take full control and boss everybody around and run things to the ground faster. There was NO hr team. Toward the end they tried to get one but it was obvious the HR was there for the companies behalf and not the CX team. In 2017 we were promised 14 vacation days, this was on the agreement we signed when hired. New HR comes along and all of a sudden when the year ended we were discouraged from taking them, though there were absolutley NO RULES on the policy for vaction days. Then this year comes and we didn't get a payout for those lost vacation days. There was no formal letter before hand warning us anything would change. And the year end bonus was LAUGHABLE. The money given could have been made in 2 or 3 days work. Moviepass only cares about itself. And if it has to do their backbone dirty to maintain that, they will. The company tries to make the team feel responsible for getting things done, when in reality the company had absolutely no direction and very little communication when partnerships, policies & etc.. changed. The company culture is horrible. I'm very happy I left the toxicity. Everything seems all fine when you first meet eveyone, but everything IS NOT. You can also thank the manager there who tries to maintain a fun attitude when even she is very stressed, inexperienced and obviously not in control of much. Nothing personal. The pay seems fine AT FIRST, but when you realize your coworkers who work FT are making more than you and getting benefits for doing EXACTLY the same job only more hours, you see how the company really values you. My advice to anyone who wants to work here is RUN. You can not teach someone who thinks they know everything about ANYTHING.

Pros

Great coworkers, terrible management.

Cons

Ted is going to drive this company into the ground. They don't care about growing or nuturing the overworked and miserable staff, they care about money and fame. Women have to fight everyday to prove their worth here.

Pros

None...? Free snacks, which are typically unhealthy and a few healthy options like bananas and apples. WageWorks and if you are lucky, and I mean lucky, you may get a MoviePass card that works. If you are a social butterfly and know how to smile and be reassuring, please do apply. If you work hard and tend to create solutions over problems, do not apply.

Cons

Management is not transparent and seems to be incapable of balancing work and personal life. Lack of transparency, therefore, a lot of idle minds makes idle hands at work- people were at work doing mostly, nothing. Yet, we are expected to do everything and anything. Unreasonable hours, lack of security and safety. The company simply does not take their employees seriously.
