Pros

Was promised a flexible remote environment where my expertise was valued. Pay was "supposed" to be competitive.

Cons

False promises, change the duties of my job once I began, EXTREME micro-management style to superiors with less experience. The CEO micromanages everything and feels need to be included in everything.

As each property we manage is unique, our training and development is immersive and real time on live properties. As such, reflection of properties not performing is an open dialog incorporating the entire teams thoughts and experiences to problem solve. We try to illustrate this fact in our interviews by stating we are an entrepreneurial company constantly innovating and improving. We appreciate this open training approach may not suit all people and we appreciate your input. Sorry you did not enjoy the experience with our company and we wish you much success with your next venture.

Toxic work dynamic and bad management

Pros

Lots of potlucks, holiday celebrations, optional evening game nights and assorted other events created the impression of a welcoming environment company-wide.

Cons

I watched as one-quarter of the customer service team quit over the course of six months after management changed hands. Personnel were often assigned to highly time-intensive projects that were meant to be urgent priorities but which other management personnel would ask us to quickly drop without explanation. I once split a two-week task with another employee at my level and after we spent close to a hundred hours combined on this project, we were told the company had changed the parameters of the assignment several days ago and our work was no longer necessary. On other occasions, I was trained to take on new tasks, but because management was always lying to each other and going behind one another's backs, it was impossible to get clearance to actually begin doing the new tasks once I was trained. This wasn't accidental miscommunication but severe incompetence on the part of management at multiple levels; the "act first, ask questions later" attitude led to a kind of wild west culture here where people were constantly wasting their employees' time assigning projects that could never move forward. Prejudice and racism were met with no attention here. Good luck reporting a coworker for racist hate speech. The HR department always took the side of the accused and actively threatened accusers into backing down.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed and candid feedback. We will look into these management issues as that is not representative of what we come to expect from our team or management and definitely not representative of our core values. In fact we have not had more than 2 resignations in any department over the past year, which is not abnormal and definitely not a quarter of any department. We take all claims of prejudice and racism in our organization seriously. We pride ourselves in being inclusive and we celebrate our diversity. In fact our company is 80% female and 30% minority. 50% of our executive team are minority themselves. We have zero tolerance for such behavior.
