Pros

The pay is okay... not good, but okay.

Cons

This company has a bad habit of continuously hiring and then firing people until they find the perfect employee. For a part-time job with no benefits and terrible hours, it is pretty absurd that they are so picky. Not to mention, it is terrible business practice since they will have to pay a higher unemployment tax rate. When I first got hired, I found out that my position was only available because the person before me was fired. Come to find out, if you don't do 20 orders per hour EVERY hour, you will be fired no matter what. They said they would take into consideration how many phone calls you take, but they don't. They said they would take into consideration how many orders you verify, but they don't. They said they would take into consideration times when we were running out of orders, but they don't. Plus, some orders just take a lot longer than others. They expect you to do a 10 page hazmat order in the same amount of time as an order with one item on it. And as with all things in life, if you do a bunch of orders in a row that came from the same company then you get into a nice flow and they can be done quickly. Of course, they only give those batches to people who have worked there a long time. The new people have to take the extra time trying to read a blurry picture on a computer screen. If you skip an order because it is too blurry for you to read but you think maybe someone else who has done this same type of order before would be able to read it better, you will get yelled at. If you delete it, with the intention that the driver submits it again, then you will get yelled at for that, too. You can't win there. Management finds any little reason to yell at you. If someone else made a mistake uploading an order but you were the person who completed the order then you will be the one getting yelled at because of their mistake. I could go on. I almost left out the best part. They have a terrible computer system. If you are working on an order but another employee has that same order open for any reason, it will not let you save it. Instead, you have to completely redo it and try to re-save it. If it still doesn't let you save it then you have to do it again! You could end up doing one order 4 times because someone else has it open. Management yells at you if you switch over to a different order so instead you have to waste time completing the exact same order multiple times. That is another reason why the people who get batches printed off can go a lot faster than those who do not.

Pros

Home every night, but alot of hours good to see customers on a regular basis, make friends on route. drivers make good sales men. hint hint

Cons

Dont get payed for anytime. In the yard hooks or drops, paperwork, fuel ing, def. Waiting for loading and unloading. To the shop for minor repair. You can spend hours there, and not get paid. Pre trip, post trips. And then try to make that up on miles and stops. Stress!!! Stay away

Ok place to work

Pros

Great Pay (If dockworker, definitely not drivers) If going to school they are pretty flexible Not a lot of micromanagement The dock supervisor is very fair and looks out for the good workers

Cons

Extremely high paced, and sometimes very strenuous labor. Very high stress, the trucks always are constantly running behind which means you are tasked with loading a truck that should take on average an hour to load or unload, but is due out in 30 min. There are only 2 kinds of workers there. Those that bust their butt and have to pick up the lazy ones' slack (and then find another job at the first opportunity), and those that are borderline worthless as workers and will be employees there forever because they always do just enough to not get fired. Lay offs at times
