Pros

Rank and file staff can be wonderful.

Cons

Executive leadership is incompetent. Incredible lack of diversity in C-suite and questionable staffing decisions that, at minimum, have bad optics. Lack of any real strategic planning. Budget shortfall every single year, yet leadership does not change their way of doing business. Targeted layoffs have occurred multiple times. they are used to cover budget shortfalls b/c leadership can't think of a different way to guide the ship. just keep doing the same losing projects from year to year and laying off employees when the budget is yet again deep in the red at budget planning time. the employer contribution for employees' retirement was discontinued for the year 2021. thats how bad it is here.

Such a sad decline

Pros

*Some* really nice employees are still left. They feel shattered though.

Cons

Impossible to succeed when everyone is let go or retires - nobody replaced. More from fewer and don’t complain or you’re gone. No strategy at all. Morale is broken Financially ruined Looking for a fast fix to years and years of mismanagement and no leadership Benefits slashed.

Pros

-Prior history of being a forward thinking math education organization -Pre-2013 management was very supportive

Cons

-Not accessible via public transport -No room for career or professional growth -Across department staff do not like to, and will not, work together -Senior management is stuck in 1990s while the math education field is well into 2014 -Board of Directors has no respect for office staff -Severly below market pay -New management is making drastic cuts (reduce salaries, fire employees, dropping professional development services, etc.) -Benefits far below those offered by other education NPOs such as NSTA, NCTE, etc. -403B fund choices continuously disappoint
