Pros

They offer a remote work environment.

Cons

NDG is a very flawed organization due to our owner and some members of the leadership team. Leadership's lack of flexibility and empathy makes for an extremely difficult culture. If you fail to do exactly what the owner and his right-hand man want, exactly how they want it, or show even the slightest sign of independent thought, you will not last. There is a constant feeling of walking on egg shells when dealing with most of the leadership team. As stated, these problems start at the top. Our CEO/owner is incredibly difficult to work with, has zero patience for anyone, and is quick to blame, demean and even insult our staff. He frequently stalls projects, never follows established processes, and becomes instantly annoyed and hostile the moment someone cannot read his mind. Additionally, there is no collaboration, no innovation, and no willingness to change.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we don’t share your view of NDG’s culture or leadership, we understand that not every workplace is the right match for every professional. NDG operates at a fast pace and expects a lot from its team — that’s part of what allows us to deliver the level of work our clients depend on. It can be demanding at times, but for people who thrive on challenge and accountability, it’s also deeply rewarding. We’re proud of the environment we’ve built — one grounded in open communication, teamwork, and constant improvement. As a fully remote team of about 30 professionals, collaboration isn’t optional; it’s the foundation of how we get great work done. Over the past 25 years, our team has developed countless award-winning campaigns, proprietary technologies, and lasting client partnerships that reflect the innovation and collaboration of our people. We're confident in letting our results speak for themselves. We know that high standards can sometimes be mistaken for rigidity, but our processes exist for a reason — to protect quality and ensure consistent results for our clients. Those same standards are what have earned us national recognition and long-standing relationships in our industry. We wish the reviewer well in their next chapter. NDG remains proud of who we are — a team defined by integrity, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Pros

Team members work hard and do their best.

Cons

Every issue this company stems from extreme micromanagement and downright disdain for their employees. - On numerous occasions the engineering team was yelled at by the CEO for small bugs making it to our staging environment. These "bugs" were frequently just features that he had approved weeks prior but changed his mind about. - Deadlines were set completely arbitrarily, with no regard for existing sprint commitments. The engineering team was expected to drop their current work to fulfill one-off requests from the CEO or another employee. Their sprint commitments were still due, however, and they were lambasted if they did not work 60+ hour weeks to meet them. - Extremely high developer turnover. In a six man development team, they lost no less than five engineers in 12 months. All of the feedback was the same: the CEO was oppressive and the work hours were far too high. When asked about this, management replied that high turnover is the "nature of remote work". - Engineers are on salary yet pay is withheld if less than 40 hours of work is reported. If an engineer works more than 40 hours they are never given overtime or even recognized for their efforts. - Any attempts to surface issues with management were met with dismissal. Everyone else was the problem, not the CEO's childish tantrums. A book could be written about the insanity that happens at this company, but I'll end with this: If you are a software engineer, do not work here. You will be underpaid, you will be worked to the bone, and you will be scolded for expecting anything better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we don’t fully agree with your characterization of your experience at NDG, we understand how, without visibility into broader business dynamics, it’s easy to arrive at these conclusions. Still, the perspective shared reflects a narrow view—shaped more by day-to-day frustration than the full context of what was happening behind the scenes. During the time this person was employed with NDG, digital development faced real challenges stemming from a lack of strong departmental leadership and misaligned processes, which created friction for both team members and leadership alike. Since then, we’ve made meaningful changes: we’ve brought in new leadership and onboarded new developers who are better aligned with the demands of a lean, collaborative, and well-rounded team. The results have been a much more stable, accountable, and productive department. Regarding workload and compensation, all NDG employees are hired with a clear understanding of their salaried, exempt status, and we regularly benchmark pay to remain competitive. We work hard to foster a culture where expectations are transparent, collaboration is encouraged, and initiative is recognized. We’re always learning and evolving—and we sincerely wish you the best in your next chapter.
