nlc is not a good place to work

Pros

Great if you want your entire life to revolve around work. People are occasionally nice but don't expect to make genuine friendships at work.

Cons

Incredibly long days. They say that you're only *actually* working 6 hours a day. That is a LIE. Expect an average work day to start anywhere from 9-10 am and not end until 8-9pm. Expect to put over two thousand miles on your car in the span of a month. This would have been fine if we were properly compensated. You can work hard all day but not even a single sale is guaranteed. You make more working a 12 hour minimum wage shift than you would make working a 12 hour shift at NLC making a standard sale. They have weekly team nights that they say are optional but you are reprimanded for if you don't go.

Pros

Your co-workers are nice people.

Cons

Was told I'd receive base pay before switching to full commission after a few weeks. Never received base pay, only full commission. Worked from 10am-8pm every day on full commission. If you don't make a sale you can work 10 hours in a day and make $0. Factor in working ridiculous hours, the expectation that you should stay late to network/get extra practice to prove how "serious" you are about the job and the fact that you work 60+ hours per week only to see checks of $400, you have exploitation of labor and misleading management.
