Pros
I joined NEX right out of college and had stayed with the market / risk team for four years, during this time I had the chance to learn from some great mentors, who are all very smart, industrious, and armed with very decorated resumes. Standards and expectations were high, and work could be intellectually demanding, so transition right out of college might not be the easiest; but on the flip side these were catalyzing factors that helped me grow, and I was afforded incredible amount of patience and opportunities by my supervisors. This is not the typical consulting / finance career path most college grads hear of in school. Instead one has to carve his/her own path. You are in control of your own career progression and decide on the directions that interest you; those with the humility and curiosity to learn often find it a much more rewarding experience than those who expect instant recognition.
Cons
The work here is highly specialized and can be very "niche", so it may not provide the instant golden stamp on a resume. But after getting past the superficial screening process, the skills I acquired at Nodal opened many doors that I would not have otherwise dreamed of.
