Pros

Remote work, good colleagues, rewarding and meaningful work/mission

Cons

The “Indiana Caucus”…far more trouble than they’re worth. Also can’t fathom how to actually make money that isn’t govt grants.

Pros

Flexible schedule, remote work available, good benefits

Cons

This organization does not offer regular salary raises or promotions, but always finds a way to create an upper-level position when someone’s buddy needs a job. NW3C is disproportionately led by white men, resulting in a great deal of quiet misogyny among management. Many of the cultural problems from the law enforcement sector have seeped into this organization’s culture. Leadership is not transparent about things like the organization’s financial standing, pay equity, or opportunities to advance. Concerns or disagreements over internal decisions are often dismissed entirely or only addressed halfway.

Good experience when they have work for you to do.

Pros

Some managers are good and work hard to meet the needs of the company and their employees. You can get a lot of good early career experience here if you have one of those managers. Great health benefits. Most of the employees are hard working, good people who enjoy a comfortable work environment.

Cons

There are very few advancement opportunities into management, most managers are brought in from law enforcement. If you have one of the bad managers you won't get any experience...except a lesson in office politics.
