Pros

Nanobiosym intends to advance Nanobiophysics for the betterment of some of the world's most challenging problems like energy, climate, and health. Their facilities are beautifully located in the heart of Cambridge and have the potential to grow into a world brand of tremendous impact.

Cons

Promisses of career advancement are attractive but quickly fade under improper management and an unethical approach to salary compensation. Management is ineffectual and communication channels are not well established leading to a constantly inefficient workflow and demoralized staff. Long working hours (10+ Monday-Saturday) not properly compensated. The CEO demands loyalty and trust, however, the CEO is short from being loyal or trustful to the staff.

Pros

I got chance to work in new technology development.

Cons

The company didn't have a clear vision about the technology development. Employees were micromanaged and paid very low salary. The open communication between scientists and engineers was discouraged.

Pros

Work here if you want to make the ego of the CEO grow even bigger (if that is possible)

Cons

Micromanaging is a gross understatement nano-managing would be more accurate. Even best efforts based on best knowledge and giving best results will be wasted by the mismanagement, lack of organization, mistrust and plain denial of need to improve the technology and the products. The exploitation of mistrust towards employees combined with explicit ban of almost any communication with coworkers, constant surveillance and spying on employees makes the atmosphere at the company unbearable. Forcing employees to work 10 hours each Monday to Friday and at least 8 hours each Saturday is just short-sighted exploitation with disregard to recovery after work and long-term efficiency.

We try to be upfront in our interview process that we are endeavoring to solve hard problems and are looking for a very select group of special people who are passionate and excited about solving tough problems and not those who are prone to complain about the effort or hard work that is often required in order to address global challenges. If these problems were that easy they would have been solved already. We also appreciate that our fast-moving environment is not a good fit for everybody and that not everybody we hire "makes the cut" into a long-term core part of our team. We realize that we have a more sophisticated IP management infrastructure and IT/cybersecurity architecture than the average startup. Those who have been with our core team for years appreciate that this is critical for a hi-tech company to excel in a global marketplace and some of America's most sophisticated and successful companies have employed state-of the art IT and IP protection policies and infrastructure. As our HR infrastructure and middle management team grow we will endeavor to be more selective upfront and try to find those select individuals who deeply resonate with our underlying humanitarian mission and who have the best technical skills, aptitude, have a deep understanding of information and IP management in hi-tech industries and passion to solve challenging problems needed to drive the global impact we have set out to do.
