Pros

Many of the people are great to work with; they truly put the patient first and care that the patient is treated with dignity, respect and kindness. Most family members are also treated well - given information about what is happening to their family member. The surgical procedures are arranged and done in a very orderly process - meaning you feel that the hospital will do the operation you have agreed to have and that they will be competent and you will be ok afterwards. They are especially good with the OB patients. Everyone is working towards the goal of a healthy baby and mom. The family is made to feel important and security is outstanding for the safety of the baby.

Cons

Senior Management and Middle management are not good communicators. A potential decision was made to sell our Long Term Care facility and the staff were told the Friday before Christmas break! Decisions are not a process of getting information about process and people; it is bottom line only and this is heart breaking when so many of the staff love the organization and wish for the very best. A large change in management happened and this newest group appears to be the most unfeeling group yet. Schedules are another source of dissatisfaction with staff. Many nurses do not have input into their schedules and are expected to work long days with a larger than normal patient to nurse ratio. New nurses are not provided enough training, they are given a rudimentary orientation and then told to get it done! People are afraid to ask, and people are afraid because they fear retaliation, loss of job or demotion.

Pros

good pay and benefits. Uniform is provided and work was busy but you knew what you were doing each day.

Cons

chaotic work environment, not bad but not for me. Employee training me was hostile and impatient. Stood over me barking orders while I was trying to learn new system, got snippy if I hesitated at all-trying to think what the next step was. Perhaps she was good at her job but not everybody is meant to teach

Pros

It’s a nice enough place to work with people who work together well and genuinely care.

Cons

It’s in a small town so if you didn’t grow up here, you may feel like an outlier.
