Poor Engineering Career Advancement

Pros

You will get to travel around the Philippines for free and get to keep your travel allowance without deductions. Learning during fieldwork is somewhat sketchy as work is merely secretarial rather than actual engineering work. Learning on the internet is even more productive.

Cons

Starting for licensed engineers is 25k but will not increase unless promoted which is a longshot given the competition and limited slots. Engineering supervisors turning 60s are stuck at earning 35k monthly. Lawyers and CPAs are given priority in compensation and promotion. Tenure is given priority in promotions rather than an actual contribution and technical capability. You can only get a salary increase if your boss dies, incapacitated, or retires. CPAs and other four-year degree courses will get promoted faster in this company. Your MS and other advance degrees are useless in this company as engineering work is merely excel work. Bosses are ignorant of engineering standards. They merely rely on kwentuhan during meeting.
