Pros

I worked there for 5 years. Was a decent place to work. Unfortunately management changed. The doctor was awesome extremely good with patients.

Cons

Unfortunately management changed and people that were unqualified to run an office were put in charge. If you were not in your 20's and not willing to bow down then you were fired. There were personal vendettas against certain employees and anyone that had more experience were perceived as a threat. Filing grievances or complaints was a waste of time especially if you were female.

Pros

They had a really good training program. When I started training as the OD Tech, I learned MUCH more than I really needed to know. But it was very useful knowledge.

Cons

I've been an optian for almost 20 yrs. I helped out in every aspect of the office. I started out at a decent pay grade. But as years went on, I would request a raise and was told they were in a "pay freeze" or something like that. Eventually, I'm making minimum wage. Requesting a raise, I get the same response, even though I'm getting excellent marks in my annual reviews. A month later, another optician is hired with only a few years of experience and none of the certifications I have, yet he is hired at $4.00/hr more than I'm making! Soon after this, minimum wage increases again, and my pay rate is increased to the new minimum wage. Awesome! The first raise I've had in over 5 years!
