Pros

Co workers are friendly, good work/personal life balance, you get treated well if you travel (nice hotel room, good restaurants)

Cons

Very hostile work environment to be in. The owner is very inappropriate and continuously makes sexual or derogatory comments towards or about people (especially females). Expectations are set high and are unrealistic to what you can really do. Paychecks are sometimes delayed and there seems to be a trend of bonuses not getting paid on time.. or ever. Its funny how some people just happened to get laid off for no reason right before they are supposed to receive their bonus... just for him to hire someone new 2 days later. I don't know how much longer this company will survive in the future. With the way things are run to the negativity of the owner- it looks like this place will go under before you know it. The owner is more concerned about his own travel and vacation than paying his employees. seems they have decreased in the amount of events they do each year.. not to mention the amount of employees they had to lay off just to stay afloat.

As Director of Operations, I can represent that there is no truth to this post. We provide a fun and exciting atmosphere for all our employees. Senior Management is directly invested in the events we produce, and all are run flawlessly, which is why our market base is expanding rapidly. Russ Anderson Director of Operations

Pros

Co-workers are great. You can wear jeans. Pretty easy commute with lots of places to eat nearby. You're salaried and get some vacation days throughout the year. The company is small so if you're looking to get a crash course in handling a lot of responsibility, this is the place.

Cons

No one who works here is paid a fair salary. Forget any promises about commission, you will not be receiving it. Opportunity for growth in position/salary is little to none. Also, although you are salaried, you are not treated as such. When I worked there you had to clock in/out- even for lunch. If you leave at 5:30, the boss often harasses you about where you are going. There were no boundaries to questions about your personal life and many female employees were made to feel uncomfortable. Employees were frequently told they lacked common sense and had their intelligence regularly insulted. Issues at the office were often approached from a personal standpoint- management tends to talk down to employees rather than work with their staff on how issues can fully be resolved. Overall, if you value your mental health and your bank account, I suggest looking elsewhere for work.

Native Nation Events takes every review seriously, both good and bad. We constantly monitor for all types of responses. As the Director of Operations, I personally look into the circumstances behind each negative comment, with the goal of building on each area. Every employee is paid a fair market salary and, if the position allows, bonuses and or commissions better than or competitive with other companies in the market. While Native Nation Events does not agree with the scope and direction of the comment above, it provides us with the opportunity to understand the nature of our hiring process and the target employment markets. We are in a growth mode, as our market area is expanding at a rapid rate. All of our processes are moving forward, providing greater opportunities for all employees! Pros

Relaxed dress code, enjoyable coworkers, decent amount of desk/cubicle space for work, clean office

Cons

Overall, it is a highly uncomfortable work environment for a number of reasons. At this company, employees were underpaid relative to responsibility, and comparable positions at other firms. In addition, payroll was missed/late on multiple occasions. Commissions and bonuses were not paid to any employee over the final 8 months of my employment, and additionally during another 4 month period the year before. The business was suffering greatly and reduced staff by 50% over the summer of 2013 to stay above water and not fold; so I have serious concerns about any long-term viability. Ownership is abrasive and overbearing, and made frequent inappropriate and/or profane comments. The most egregious of these comments were numerous sexually explicit and inappropriate comments centered around all of the following: ownership's own sex-life, female employees, girlfriends of male employees, sisters and other family relatives of male employees. These sexual comments ranged in nature from mild/moderate, to extremely graphic.

Native Nation Events' employees are paid a fair market salary, and some are eligible for bonuses/commission. All NNE employees are paid on time. The remainder of the comments above are sour grapes from a disgruntled employee. Russ Anderson Director of Operations
