The cons outweigh the pros

Pros

-The benefits offered are excellent -Training is great; done very carefully, deliberately, and patiently -Many coworkers and peers are wonderful

Cons

-Impossible to move up if you don’t know the right people -Absolutely massive disconnect between higher-ups/staff at the corporate office and branch staff -VERY political -Zero work-life balance for branch staff -Archaic dress code -Low pay -While most of upper management is at least fine (if out of touch), certain higher-ups go out of their way to be petty and spiteful -“The customer is always right” mentality is taken WAY too far, to the point where customers can (and will) verbally abuse staff and upper management does nothing -Inconsistencies in policy between branches, leading to negative experiences for customers. This is not the type of job where there can be gray areas -You’ll often be villified for taking time off -Poor handling of pandemic

Pros

Good benefits, good work and life balance. Corporate office is a nice modern building in which to work. Good name in the community.

Cons

Very few advancement opportunities unless you work in the branches. Office jobs rarely include the opportunity to get promotions or merit bonuses. It's all about retail branches at Navigant.

Not all bad, for a bank

Pros

-Good benefits for full time employees (no health insurance for part timers) -Time and a half on Saturdays -Lots of employee engagement and a killer annual meeting with lots of prizes.

Cons

-No flexibility in scheduling and little respect for work-life balance (I work 29 hrs and they make me work 5-6 days a week). All the full timers I know work six days a week. -Short staff -Policies and procedures are very "small bank", very minimal back office support. -Definitely going through some growing pains as they transition to a medium-sized institution. -Outdated policies for dress code...require tattoos to be covered with band aids and strict rules about hair color. -It seems that promotions and hiring are based on who you know, not what you do.
