Pros

The new building in Madison is nice

Cons

Navitus HR actually sent out an email to their employees saying there were too many negative reviews, and to please write reviews. Instead of fixing the problems that actually exist (favoritism, poor compensation, lack of advancement opportunities, not "best in class" benefits, to name a few) they are actually asking employees to do them a solid, and in my opinion fluff their rating. These negative reviews are not "sour grapes" from previous employees. These are real issues plaguing this company. There are many companies growing at a rapid pace, similar to Navitus, who are handling their business and their staff much better. Even little things like better bereavement, maternity/paternity leaves, wellness programs and true merit increases could help. Bullying also seems to be tolerated here, many times causing staff to feel as though they are working in a middle school environment. Even with direct documented complaints to leadership, bullies are allowed to exist and even advance.

Thank you for your comment and perspective. Navitus is serious about improving the employee experience and is mindful of these reviews—and we have implemented many employee programs based on feedback received. We did ask employees to write something if they felt motivated to do so, as we wish to attract good employees. We did not say what to write, nor did we incentivize anyone to write anything positive. We truly appreciate the time our employees took to write a review. As for the idea that bullying is tolerated, that is not true. While we do not advertise the consequences to employees for verified inappropriate behavior toward others, we must and do address it. We have a zero tolerance for bullying, and we act on any allegations by investigating, retraining, and applying appropriate discipline up to and including termination.

Very unprofessional

Pros

Nice cor-workers, nice buildings, nice office locations

Cons

Incredibly unprofessional, sloppy from HR to Executive Management. At the end of four years with Navitus, having dealt with systemically troubling management, disorganization across leadership, and a radical degree of pettiness (e.g. leadership without strategic plans for the organization obsessing over staff wearing sweatshirts with or without zippers on casual fridays) I was confronted with the most awkward conversation I've ever had with a previous employer. The HR department neglected to terminate my employment in a timely manner and overpaid me by one paycheck. One month later they asked me to pay them back for their error within two weeks of the request. I am an honest person, so of course I will pay them back. But in this scenario, I found out the payout for my remaining earned vacation included a miscalculation for over-taxation due to the combination of my final paycheck added to my vacation pay pushed me into another tax bracket. This, of course, isn't true. Their calculation was based on making assumptions about individual paychecks being representative of all paychecks for a year, so the calculation was completely wrong. Again, while I was happy to correct their error and deal with the inconvenience of all of this horribly unprofessional accounting, they still required that I refund them their error within two weeks of notifying me. And this is not an isolated blunder. There are so many awkward managerial blunders indicative of promoting staff that are unqualified to lead that it all feels a bit like a tragic memory and waste of four years. I still think fondly of a number of people I worked with, but honestly, I don't have any love left for Navitus after this last straw.

Micro-Management, constant criticism

Pros

Cafeteria on site, good benefits, decent culture, flexibility with work/life balance

Cons

The management makes all the pros not even worth it. Constant micro-management. Non stop criticism. Too much work assigned to one person. Not fair treatment across all people. Work morale is low in a lot of departments but it isn't recognized. And the cherry on top....sending a company email soliciting positive feedback on Glassdoor when they start to accumulate too many negatives!
