Navium stands out as the worst company to work for in my experience. Its rigid adherence to outdated work practices, including a lack of remote work options, reflects its resistance to change. The glaring issue, however, lies in the evident nepotism fostered by the CEO, who unabashedly favours specific individuals. It seems you will only be offered development opportunities if you’re privately educated or have family ties to the CEO or come from a rich family. This exacerbates the company's shortcomings in treating all employees with fairness and respect. Notably, the lack of diversity is striking, with only one person from an ethnic minority among 20 employees. Those from underrepresented backgrounds appear to face unequal opportunities, evident in a concerning 75% of recent resignations coming from individuals of ethnic minorities. This clearly highlights a disconcerting pattern. When a person of ethnic minority asks for the same equal opportunities as their white male counterpart and is refused, this is evident of discrimination. Despite Navium's claims of gender diversity, the reality unfolds differently, with men dominating senior roles while women occupy entry and lower-level positions. The ‘chief of staff’ adds to the toxicity by micromanaging employees, creating discomfort, and displaying preferential treatment for certain colleagues, the same colleagues favoured by the CEO. The chief of staff monitors the clock all day every day to see what time you’re coming in and even if you’re 5 minutes late you will be reprimanded. Overall, the company culture at Navium appears overwhelmingly toxic, and far from an ideal professional environment.
