Nightmare - stay away!

Pros

None. All smoke and mirrors. Lies.

Cons

This was the worst work experience I have ever had. Even in my interview, other employees were complained about and terrible things said about them - I should have seen the red flag. Outright lieing, manipulation and unprofessionalism, intimidation. These people do not know how to manage or treat employees in Canada. The business has very questionable business practices and are underhanded with clients and employees. It is a very toxic workplace. No wonder it has extreme turnover - investors should see this as a tell tale sign. They will try to delete this and cover it up - but you can only get so far as a company with pretending. Unable plan, create a vision or company goals because founders do not have those real skills or experience. There is no opportunity to learn here.

Pros

Good entry level job if you cannot land anything else. They have a good idea for product ( with very poor execution). They manage to hire great talented people (and are completely not able to retain them)

Cons

They pay way below the market and try to diminish your qualifications when you ask for a raise. They have questionable business practices and complete lack of respect for the people they hire. They try to promote great startup culture, but they remove startup perks as a mean to "restore discipline". The entire company and it's purpose is just smoke and mirrors.

We pride ourselves as being one of the few startups in North America with an open salary and equity policy and we aim to pay market-rate salaries, benefits along with very generous equity grants. Earlier this summer, our compensation structure was revised by a well-known HR company in the Montreal market and was determined to be at a competitive level for our stage. Our policy is to always listen to employees requests and to revise compensation twice a year. Given the frequency of our reviews, we’ve only had a single case of a salary request prior to a performance review. We are also very happy to provide a very compelling benefits package and amazing perks including a fully-stocked kitchen with premium, company retreat trips, flexible work-hours, remote work policy, and much more. However, our main goal is to keep a balance between flexibility and productivity. In order to ensure that benefits themselves aren’t abused, our managers limit perks only when a specific employee knowingly and repeatedly violates our policies. We created two businesses over the past 6-years and our positive reviews by interns, more experienced full-time employees on Glassdoor, and numerous clients across North America speak for themselves. We’re proud of the alumni that have helped us over the years and frequently see them at company events.

Pros

employee's talent that they cant seem to keep

Cons

1. management 2. do not talk behind all of your employees backs? we can hear you? and then you wonder why it takes you so long to find new talent? or why talent leave 3. can't say or post won't go through, so basically everything else so this can't be removed. But if there is a bunch of new 4-5 star reviews in a less than 10 people company, you know why? or a reply saying I'm sorry to hear about your experience to soften the impact, you know why as well.

Statistically-speaking, most businesses fail. However, our senior management team has created more than 10 companies and hundreds of jobs in their careers along with more than 4 exits. We make every effort to attract and develop employees that share our values, however, no interview process perfectly flags misfits, also employees may change over time. We make every effort to iterative on our culture and clarify our values just as we iterate on the products that we ship for our customers. Improving our culture is something we ask our employees to help us with while being focused on our mission of making the homebuying experience less scary for homebuyers. Occasionally, there are employees that do not wish to make this effort - we appreciate their contributions while they were on the team and wish them the best in future endeavors.
