Pros

trying to use new technology

Cons

Overbearing and micro managing management. PM's backstab employees when they screw up as they should not be involved technical aspects if they are not qualified. No respect towards senior engineers. Bottom line is money and owners keep reminding employees about it. Bonuses are not given. Lack of communication between Account executives and PM's. Very high turnover.

Pros

Almost too few pros to bother listing, the cons are all you will think about while working here. Healthcare is ok if you can afford it. 15 vacation days for starting employees.

Cons

Many of these reviews appear to be posted or incentivized by management, look at how similar all the recent 5-star reviews are. Glassdoor currently has System Engineer salaries at over 100K this is laughably false. Most employees including engineers are well below the 60K mark. Deceptive hiring tactics. If you’re hired as a systems engineer you’ll most likely be working as a help desk technician - they’ll even refer to you as a “tech”. There is no room for career growth. “Promotions” are lateral moves to other departments or to a team lead position with no increase in pay. Pay is low compared to the rest of the market, which is made worse by the lack of raises. No bonus, instead you get to take a company quiz at the holiday party to compete for “gifts”. A very high turnover rate highlights NDR’s inability to retain talent. It’s common for people to come and go in a matter of weeks or months. Management lacks professionalism, diversity, and experience. Senior management appears to be clueless regarding the average employee workload. Middle management makes promises they can't keep. Culture is toxic regardless of what these other reviews say. Culture is more than getting along and having fun with your co-workers. It also means fostering growth, clearly defined career paths, recognizing/rewarding employees for hard work, and transparency from management. On call schedule is poorly managed which leads to doubling up every few weeks - such as 24 hours on Friday, off Saturday, and 24 hours on Sunday. Prepare to give up your weekends and holidays so you can reset people’s passwords. Requests to fix this were met with "there's nothing we can do". Which really means management can't be bothered to fix it.

Management ruins the experience.

Pros

Diverse client base means good opportunities to work with different technologies and environments to build up experience in a short amount of time. Technical staff is helpful and good to learn from. Full-time employees given access to training tools via Pluralsight for any certification(s) you wish to pursue. Documentation of client environments is detailed and thorough for the most part. Company can serve as a good steppingstone to a more promising career elsewhere.

Cons

Project management has a reputation for being unhelpful, overbearing, micro-managing and disrespectful towards their team and other departments. Unhidden favoritism by upper management towards certain departments like account management. No bonuses given to the technical staff that are making things happen. Little to no raises given since March 2020. Starting salary for engineers is way below the market average. Salary figures made worse by the fact that long workdays are common. Departments are losing staff to better opportunities elsewhere and thus making the workload on the rest of the team even worse. Expense reimbursement for onsite work does not match the rising costs of commuting. Management known to make crude and unwelcomed remarks towards direct reports with no consequences. Team leadership and/or management lack the technical background to effectively lead their teams in the right direction.
