Pros

There are great books each season, and talented co-workers in a staff of around 25 people. Opportunities to connect with other non profits in meaningful ways, and a definite unique publishing experience.

Cons

growth issues, mismanagement, not always committed to what's best for employees

Pros

Love the mission and the staff. Plenty of excited, committed people who care about social justice issues. Cool hybrid of an advocacy/non-profit org, neat networking opps. Good work/life balance; mgmt encourages people to take vacation days, people go home when the workday is done.

Cons

No clear career paths for junior staff. Salaries are low. Money is always tight.
