Terrible Work/Life Balance & Disorganization

Pros

Working with kids involved in wilderness therapy and outdoors in the beautiful woods made this job fun at times.

Cons

Management is terrible - completely disconnected from their employees and workaholics that expect the same 80+ hours a week from all their staff. They pay bottom dollar and do not respect their employees, especially their field staff/grunts on the ground. Very disorganized which causes emergency situations because of their lack of planning.

Pros

Rewarding work, scheduling, community, opportunity to learn A LOT, knowledgeable clinical team, opportunity to hold self accountable, don't have a boss breathing down your neck

Cons

Low pay, lack of respect from leadership to field guides, field directors are manipulative. I was witness to one of the field directors making ride comments to a guide. Leadership generally doesn't debrief guides after crisis, lack of empathy toward field guides when they show their human side. There were raves being held during a pandemic. White supremacy is riddled within the programming. Company fired the only clinician of color after she contracted covid. One of your guides was actively depressed and suicidal and I witnessed one of the directors make fun of them for being melancholy
