Very negative work space. So many people seemed unhappy, and management was very dictatorial. They also mocked their employees during morning classes.
The employee had book was as thick as a phone book! It may take a "special person" to work at this miserable company. Too bad those "special people" have pretty much quit.
I had never worked for a company before with such a heavy turnout. Jump-starting interviews is one thing. Convincing employees of big companies to agree to be in a newsletter is another. And News Link management threw blame and ridicule on their corporate journalists for not being able to get what were mostly blue-collar workers to agree to that. According to management, all it took was "positively affecting behavior by asking people how they engage in their job."
Sure... newsletter readers would like to read the same old stories time and time again about topics such as safety, and how clients do their jobs. No wonder managers felt it necessary to practice un-journalistic tactics such as changing quotes.
If managers understood journalism, rather then pretend to, they'd understand why the journalists they hire are quitting left and right... and why real journalists in the Lincoln area think poorly of the company.
