Pros

You get to bond with others on how everyone is looking for their next role

Cons

Where do I start. Well, the first thing I would say is the following 1 star reviews that you see below? Those are absolutely true. These aren't disgruntled employees. These are people that worked really hard to end up with nothing. I can't think of a single person during my time that wasn't looking for another job. I'll try to think of any other reasons not listed by other reviews. Besides horrible pay (by horrible I mean pay below industry standard/ not enough to pay the bills) this place has a completely toxic environment. There are account managers that get zero support from management, sometimes even having to step outside to cry because of how they are treated. All of operations are overworked, leaving to cause tension across departments even though the agency should be working together as a team. There are promotions that are undeserved and even more toxic individuals that are placed in senior/management roles. If you are a potential applicant reading reviews to make a decision on proceeding to apply or accept an offer...don't. I promise you are better off in the long run waiting to apply to a different agency then to waste your time here and not learn or grow. You'll also probably get a better chance of making a wage you can pay your rent and student loans with elsewhere.

Pros

The people you work with are really great and you will learn about digital advertising while you are there. But if you go in with digital knowledge you will soon learn that this is not the company to grow with. Great company to start off with but definitely not somewhere to stay long term.

Cons

Career advancement is not talked about. Even when employees talk about it with their immediate supervisors. You are given the run around when talk of career advancement is discussed. You will be doing the job you are waiting to be promoted to but will never receive a definitive answer or plan on when the promotion will happen. They encourage you to speak to your managers about career advancement but I did that consistently and was never told anything about their plan for me until AFTER I gave my two weeks notice. It wasn't until after I gave my two weeks did they tell me they had plans to promote me and move me up. My last two weeks there were not ideal either. I had someone at the director level yell "traitor" to me every time they walked past me. Which is very unprofessional, especially coming from someone at the Director level. In my personal situation, they had me doing the work of the position I was trying and asking to be promoted to but was never given any timeline of promotion. During my one-on-ones with my directly supervisor I would bring it up. Once I put my two weeks in they replaced me with a Senior AM, which is the exact position I had been doing the work for and asking to be promoted to. This is how I know they will keep you at your current level even if you are doing the job of the next level. Because why pay someone more money if they will do the same work for less? Unfortunately for the HYFN Local, I know my worth and I knew that I was not being valued so I moved on. I see this happening in all departments, not just on the Account Management team. That is why there is such a high turnover for this company. Management refuses to change.

Mismanaged

Pros

There really is none. You learn advertising but you’re worked until you’re sick of it.

Cons

The operations department is mismanaged and turnover is high. Senior positions are taken only to pad resumes and then leave for greener pastures.
