Only for “yes men”

Pros

Not much anymore. There are (or were) really great people that work there. The building is nice.

Cons

If you are a people pleaser and a “yes man” then this place is for you! A lot of change and restructure with claim they are being “transparent” about it but will actually just talk around the subject. They are continuously getting rid of or driving employees out to bring in new people that do not know about all the problems. I suppose that makes sense but they drove so many good people out. Some managers are micromanaging just like anywhere else but there seems to be more of those than not. I’ve worked at some larger corporations and they weren’t great but this place takes the cake on soul crushing stress for not great pay. They find things to write you up for if they don’t want you around anymore to try and get you to quit. They also took away work from home days to “build company culture” when we all know that’s a load of crap. Just another tactic to weed out those “problem” employees that ask questions and give managers boundaries on workload. Also be aware if they fire people or if someone quits, they most likely will not backfill the position so more work for you!

Thank you for sharing your experience and honest feedback. Growth and change can create discomfort. We're addressing it in several ways, including building additional training resources, adding a quarterly bonus program, and monthly company-wide meetings where we'll answer any questions (even the really tough ones). And, of course, we love celebrating our successes with parties and team celebrations. We value the perspectives of all our employees and take concerns seriously. Please keep communicating transparently with us as we use it to make meaningful changes.

Pros

-Completely integrated technology utilizing google cloud -Clear sales process; great processes to follow and understand as a brand new sales person. Perfect for someone with no previous experience.

Cons

When preparing for an interview with Nextep, you will find great reviews. Nextep boasts its high glassdoor rating and claims that employee job satisfaction and happiness are high on it's priority list. I am confident that Nextep is somehow able to hide negative reviews, or they have gotten lucky and not many people have written them. Perhaps satisfaction rates are high for employees who work at headquarters, but I can guarantee you that job satisfaction and employee happiness are not high within the Business Consultant role. Your interview will be rushed - they will make you feel like you need to start right away because of the immediate successes that you will feel in a groomed market. The realty is that you are needed immediately because of the high turnover this company feels. No market ever has a full team. In the territory I worked, I saw 5 people leave or be let go. A full team is only 6 people and I was with Nextep less than a year... You are your numbers in this position. Nextep is not looking for anyone to bring their own sales style to this job. There is not even the opportunity to develop your own elevator pitch. EVERYTHING - from proposals, initial presentations, and phone conversations - is scripted. You are expected to make a set number of calls, emails, and marketing visits in a week. Not only are you driven by activity numbers, but you are held to weekly AND monthly KPIs. If you do not hit every single number, your work ethic and approach to sales will be questioned. Nextep follows a very 80's style sales mind set but tries to emit a millenial feel. You will be told that this is a $100K+ job per year. There is potential to feel this earning potential, but it takes well over a year. The grind of the day-to-day is not realistic to keep up for a long period of time. Even if you hit your yearly revenue goal, if you go 2 months without hitting activity driven KPIs, you will be put on retention. No matter your tenure or previous success, your job is not safe for more than, give or take, 60 days at a time. I believe in the PEO model wholeheartedly and know that Nextep's approach to its customers is truly unique in the market. I believe that this company has a great product, but its approach to sales and the people who are expected to drive revenue is hurting their business. Employees are treated like activity drivers vs people - anyone can fill your spot if they can make enough phone calls in a day. Biggest con is the miscommunication about the job and the reality of the position.

Feedback like this gives us an important perspective because our greatest desire is for our employees to thrive in their roles. We are an open feedback company and work to find solutions for our employees when they come to us with issues. We realize that sales isn't the right fit for everyone. While some love the challenge of cold-calls and revisiting prospects, others get frustrated by it. To help our new salespeople to succeed, they are given a list of qualified leads, have attainable goals for freshman (different than those of our tenured salespeople), and are offered a competitive base pay, giving them high earning potential. As a Best Place to Work company, we value transparency and taking care of our people. Our salesforce is large, and we are proud that our turnover is well below the industry standard. We have never hidden a review on Glassdoor, nor do they allow it. We hope that you'll contact us to provide some additional context to your statements. We truly wish you success in your next role.

An open and festering wound

Pros

None at this time sadly.

Cons

It's a revolving door and no one seems to care. Everyone calls the CEO a narcissist, he is but isn't most people in power. What's worse is he's a bumbling idiot that can't hold a coherent thought for more than a child's typical attention span. What's worse that he makes racist and inappropriate comments in front of the company on a regular basis.
