Pros

Office snacks and juicy drama

Cons

Working for this company was a demoralizing experience on multiple fronts. Despite my expertise, I was micromanaged to the point of suffocation, treated as if I lacked any decision-making capability. This overbearing management style drained any sense of autonomy and innovation from my work. What compounded the frustration was the shockingly low compensation. My skills and experience were grossly undervalued, and it was apparent that the company favored cutting costs over recognizing the potential of its employees. This glaring compensation disparity was a constant reminder of the company's lack of regard for its workforce. Furthermore, the company's product, while cheap, was devoid of meaningful features and innovation. Selling solely based on price became an uphill battle, as the software lacked the competitive edge necessary to capture clients' interest. This limitation severely hindered my ability to close deals and foster valuable client relationships. In conclusion, this company's toxic mix of micromanagement, inadequate compensation, and a subpar product made it a profoundly frustrating and demotivating environment. For those considering employment here, be prepared to sacrifice your professional growth and job satisfaction for a paycheck that hardly justifies the toll it takes on your well-being.

One of the things I'm proudest of at Nextpoint is our organizational dedication to ensuring compensation is fair and at market. We have established an independent compensation committee to review salary and bonus levels, as well encouraging our staff to do their own research and present their compensation requests they believe are fair. It's not a one way street, it's a conversation to ensure that everyone's professional requirements are being met. To the extent this person was micromanaged and underpaid, it was almost certainly due to underperformance. That's what happens to under performers at any company. I'm truly sorry this person had a negative experience here, I work hard every day to ensure this doesn't happen. But sometimes it does, so we'll learn, evolve and continue to get better as we've done for over two decades. Best of luck and I truly hope you find a place that you feel valued and fairly compensated and it's too bad for all of us that it wasn't here. - R

Pros

Middle tier employees are generally fun to work and collaborate with.

Cons

They do not care about you as an employee; you are there to make them money. After requesting a modified work schedule to better align with a medical condition, I was told, “Sometimes business decisions are more important than personal decisions.” Compensation. You have to fight to ensure you’re paid according to your bonus structure, and even when you get paid, it will be late. Upper management creates a hostile work environment. The level of micromanagement and disrespect is something almost every single employee secretly complains about because bringing it up only leads to retaliation.

In 20 years, we've never missed a payroll. We've paid our bonuses in total when they've been earned. Our vendors continue to work with us because we are a good customer on stable financial footing. It doesn't sound like your time here was spent in Finance or Accounting so I'm not sure where this is coming from. If by 'fighting' for compensation, that means we ask our staff to ensure they are doing the necessary research to understand their skill sets and what the employment market is for those positions, then yes, that is what we do. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time here, it always sucks for me to read these kinds of reviews because it's the OPPOSITE of the experience which I want our staff to have here and the culture that we've been building. A culture of self-direction, autonomy, fair compensation and opportunities for professional advancement. I hope you find a better fit and great success in your future endeavors and thank you for the time you put in here. I'm sure it was with the best of intentions and effort and it's unfortunate it didn't work out for either of us. - R

Pros

They hold nice events as a disguise to make them look nice.

Cons

This company is full of lies, they hook you with promise of moving up within the company on any path you want, then try to force you to take a single path you don’t want. Not only that but when you speak up again issues you have, they make your life miserable trying to get you to quit and when you don’t quit they fire you under the pretense of they are eliminating your position but then post your job all over LinkedIn before then even fire you. They gave me absolutely no support in the last 6 months, and did nothing but make my job harder each and every day. It was very obvious they wanted me gone when the CRO told me 6 months ago “you can stay where you are or quit” and when I decided to stay, they piled on the work, refused to give me the tools necessary to hit my goals, and then fired me when I wouldn’t quit. Beware of this scam company.

Whoosh. This is a lot. I think everyone knows how to read reviews on the internet. I'll let this one stand on it's own. Its unfortunate you didn't have a good experience here, I wish you the best in your future. - R
