Pros

- Birthday/anniversary gift - Well, you have ~300$ for education per year. But CTO hint you that you should spend this money for some kind of education related to company technologies and business.

Cons

- Boring projects. - Very inflexible working day. You can’t work from home if you need it. You need to be in office before 10am. - Very low salary. They might say “you are very good tech guy”, “ppl learning a lot from you”, but salary still will be very low. - You will be valuable team member only if you working there for a long time. - They more care about soft skills rather that about tech skills. And this is weird because they are trying to make best quality software. But I think is a common problem of modern small companies. - They complains about lack of developers but will not offer anything if you are quitting. Basically they will just say “bye”. Although they always saying “our aim to make developers work here for a long time. Nope, you are not even trying. - CTO has too much responsibilities and trying to control everything. Also, I guess, CTO thinks that ppl around him are stupid, because he really like to repeat same things millions of times. It was not only me who noticed it. - You better not get sick. CTO don’t like it. He might literally say to you that your sickness is “suspicious”. - Amazingly toxic environment on some projects. They are always saying to be “proactive”, to offer solution before problem appeared, and this is good idea. But unfortunately on some project ppl could just shut you up (literally) when you are proposing idea, solution or an improvement. - Ridiculous ideas about interview process. They are making and improving current interview process. And, to be honest, most of question related to soft skills... - Forced monthly events. Every month you forced to choose a subject you want to learn, make presentation and show it to ppl after work day is over. At some point it’s good, they giving you a 1,5 day for learning stuff.... But! You need to approve subject with CTO. You can’t just say “I want to try this or that”, you need to pass a project review process. I could understand it if they would not force ppl to participate. But you must participate, even if you have a lot of work to do and you really want to finish it. If you are decided not to participate you will have very bad time. And this is really funny how they are allowing you to spend 1,5 day for some (most of time) useless stuff but in the same time they can’t increase flexibility of working day. Actually I don’t understand how they systematically ignoring this problem, because every month more and more ppl delaying their project submitting for approval. - They can’t hire office manager. If you have some problems, or you need something, CTO might say “we going to hire office manager soon, solve your problem with him/her”. Office managers they hired all just ran away within a month or even a week. - Cockroaches. I did’t add a free snacks and fruits in pros only because of cockroaches. They are everywhere. Inside of coffee machine. Inside if tea bags. Even inside of fridge... Summary: Small company that trying to act as a giant one. Introducing a lot of processes they can’t afford. If you are good tech specialist there is much more other companies with better conditions and environment.

Pros

I like working in the center of Bangkok. And it's well connected with train station (BTS) They borrow you a Macbook to work.

Cons

Micromanagement, specially by the CTO. It's an outsourcing company Don't believe the beautiful words you see in the job offers. These are made to spark your interest but you won't like it there. They don't pay a good salary. Don't get sick, please. Or the counter will start doing its job. Don't ask a day off or the counter will start doing its job. Mmm...the counter for what? If you take more than 12 days in the year get ready to see your salary descend. The CTO doesn't like that you're sick. Again, don't believe what's on the job offers They say after 3 years you can take a 1-month vacations 😂😂😂. They call it a sabbatical period, because you only have 12 days a year for vacations. There's also our Thailand holidays (but they only provide 12 days). Are they serious? I still haven't seen that, BTW I DON'T RECOMMEND WORKING HERE. I'll leave at some point once I find something else

Pros

Nice office near MRT & Skytrain at Interchange 21, MacBook Pro & monitor provided, Thai visa for 2 years.

Cons

Employees have to work over 8pm to fix hostile & biased code reviews. Managers always pay attentions to what you're doing. Salary is lower than the market but as far as I know, customers are charged very much. They said you have 2 weeks to find housing, but only 8 days are paid in advance and you will be asked every day until you find it. A lot of people had left before I came. They also recruit many interns to save money.

I really appreciate you took the time to write this feedback. I'm sorry to hear the experience you had and that some of these aspects didn't arise earlier during our frequent 1-on-1 meetings so we could have acted upon earlier. I would like to address a few of the points you mention. First, a genuine interest on knowing about how your relocation is progressing and leave 1 week open to change to a different hotel in case you didn't feel comfortable, seem to have been misinterpreted, unfortunately. I have given instructions to the team involved to manage in a clearer way and arrange it for the entire time we offer. Adding to that, we will increase our policy to be 3 weeks for our teammate to find a place she/he feels comfortable with. Regarding compensation, we have already implemented a level based career path for anyone that joins the company bringing transparency and aligning expectations since the candidate applies to join us. This is revised constantly to let us offer the above-market compensation as we currently do. This scale values different aspects that bring impact to the team apart from experience and actually encourages teammates to reach new levels valuing their impact on the team. Apart from our compensation scale, we do a continuous review of the compensation of each team member, usually every 3-4 months. Other benefits we have also added: a generous Provident Fund, a yearly education allowance for anyone to improve their skillset and a sabbatical month after you have been with us for 3 years. Moving to another topic, during the all-hands meetings, we have been explicit that we should scale ourselves as well (eat, exercise and sleep well), to have a sustainable work pace and we encourage the people to leave on time. Adding a dedicated Product Manager a year and a half ago (we are even actively looking to increase this team) has helped us to achieve a better workflow and sustainable work pace. There have been few specific cases where we have needed to solve urgent issues, which haven't been the norm since the company started and it's has been a matter of professional courtesy with our clients to not leave them stranded when they need us. We will keep reminding about this during our all-hands meetings, thanks for bringing this up. Talking about code reviews, our current process guarantees that all the codebase is reviewed by at least 2 reviewers, teammates from any level are part of this: junior, senior, lead, founders teammates. Even colleagues that are not part of the specific project are invited to review constantly, so reviews are balanced, with a dose of healthy technical discussions. Finally, Interns are a great addition to the team as they bring a more casual point of view and fresh ideas to our projects, sometimes internal initiatives. I can say that currently, our internship is one the highest paid internship in Thailand (probably the highest paid one) and as of today we only have 1 intern per year, that could change as sometimes we have several outstanding candidates. The idea of the internship is to provide the Interns with a real-world experience, compared to what most companies offer: an internship that undervalues their potential by giving them errands or tasks nobody else wants to do. At the end of the internship, if we are a good fit for each other we would love to keep working with them in the future as full-time employees, as it has already happened. Feel free to reach me out if you have more feedback carlos@nimbl3.com Thanks and Regards, Carlos
