Pros

- Collaborative culture where there is a work/life balance - It's small enough that you get to take on responsibilities that might have been left to upper management in a larger company - Lots of opportunities for personal and professional growth - Amazing benefits! - They truly value their employees and want to make them stay (as evidenced by people working there for 30+ years)

Cons

- As it is a small staff, you often have to wear MANY hats at once, and have constantly changing responsibilities, which can feel overwhelming, but thanks to the culture, you can speak up and someone will help you find a way to overcome the problem.

Pros

Nlets has a wonderful work environment. Employees are not restricted to just their desk/office during work hours. They are able to seek help and advice from other coworkers or directors. The culture within Nlets promotes collaboration and friendship.

Cons

As Nlets is a small but growing organization, all employees need to wear many hats to reach our common goals. This may put you out of your comfort zone and have to learn new skills quickly. It makes for a challenging work environment at times. Depending on your view this can be seen as a great learning experience or stressful.

Fulfilling Place to Work

Pros

I feel empowered to use my technical skills to improve Nlets. My workflow is not restrictive to specific tasks. They really trust and rely on me to be the expert in my area. I enjoy the fact that the primary goal is not to simply produce revenue, there is a strong mission that I play a part of. The unique position of Nlets allows us to receive salary’s which are competitive in the private sector, while enjoying benefits and retirement plans that are usually only seen in the public sector.

Cons

Nlets is a relatively small group of employees. As a result, opportunities for upward mobility are currently limited. Unless you get lucky, the position you are hired for is likely the position you will be in for a while. Additionally, because it is such a small group you are often required to have a broad range of knowledge, as opposed to specializing in a specific niche within your field of expertise. This could be seen as a positive or negative depending on career goals.

Nlets senior management supports occasional telecommuting from home for exempt employees. Situations may arise where it is imperative that an employee be at home during the day for personal reasons – and it benefits the employee to be there and work from home on that day; or when working on an individual project or assignment where working quietly at home may be a productivity enhancer.
