Pros

The company culture at Nomadis is the best I've worked at. The team is always looking out for each other, you will have never feel like you're alone unless you're forcing yourself to be. The team is currently full remote with the head office in Montreal. People are free to work at it or from home however they want. We have some company events where everyone is invited, but participation is only voluntary. If you prefer being in the office, there will always be a few people there, Jean-Philippe (CEO) prefers working from the office and enjoys company, but has never made it feel like working remotely is a bad thing or is hindering your career at Nomadis in any way. Aside from the WFH policies, Nomadis has flexible hours and family is valued very highly. Need to take an afternoon off to deal with something that just came up, or maybe you need to book a dentist appointment during work hours? No problem, notify the team and/or your immediate supervisor and that's it, You can figure out how you want to deal with the hours later. You can make up for them by working them back on another day, or maybe you take them out of your sick bank or vacation. The choice is yours. The upper management has had first hand experience in software development in the past: This means that your opinion as a software engineer is valued and always sought after. This value is also passed down onto the rest of the team. If you think something is wrong with an implementation or a timeline then you can be sure someone will listen to you and changes will be made. Can you steer the whole ship by yourself? Of course not, but you can definitely have an impact on it's direction and it feels great to be building something together with the rest of the team rather than just being a cogwheel stuck in motion. Nomadis has been expending rather quickly so there's always new challenges and opportunities if you're up for them. Nomadis has decent insurance plan given the size of the company. It isn't the best out there, but it's also relatively inexpensive and covers all the basics. Dentist, medical, vision, etc. The insurance plan changes a bit every year, but a lot of hard work is put into always getting the best deal for the employees. The company covers a very large portion of the fees. Nomadis has basic a savings/retirement plan with voluntary participation. Overall, Nomadis is a really good company and place to work at. I'm looking forward to where Nomadis is going to be in the future. The outlook looks very promising.

Cons

Being a small company also means that personal responsibility is very important. People will often be left on their own and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. The most important thing is to be your own advocate and seek out help when you need it.
