Pros

You will learn a lot about mental health and substance abuse. It's very interesting work. You see people's lives changed for the better.

Cons

It takes a long time for recovery, the change is slow. Downtime when patient's don't show of up appointments. There can be crisis situations at anytime. The pay is lower for a nurse in Oklahoma.

Pros

Great benefits Several departments, great internal hiring On-site training opportunities are offered all the time Meaningful work

Cons

Overworked and unvalued. DMH made massive budget cuts across the state, consequently, funding for NorthCare's crisis services were cut. Instead of informing their employees ahead of the program's end, they presented as if they found ways around it and everything was going to be okay. Nope. Right before the holidays, they blindsided staff by terminating the program and laying off everyone in it. For months, they knew would terminate the program and if not, they at least knew it was a strong possibility. For a mental health agency, NorthCare cares nothing about the mental health of their staff. If you work there, you will be expendable.
