      Pros

      Amazing opportunity to give back and really make a difference. You will work everyday knowing you've impacted a family or individual.

      Cons

      Corporate team and upper management are completely disconnected from the different programs. Employees outside of the Oakton office (sometimes within Oakton) are ignored and not valued. Leadership is NOT diverse. Respect is only shown towards managers and not the actual worker bees...this is felt amongst MANY.

      Pros

      This is an important community based organization with a potential of helping thousands of low income residents lead better lives. Like in many nonprofits, I found my work at NVFS to be meaningful and coworkers passionate about making a difference.

      Cons

      Aside from the mission, this organization is going down a slippery road of instability. A new CEO took over less than 2 years ago that lacks experience outside the organization and this leadership change has had a negative impact on the engagement of both internal staff and long term donors. The entire C level has turned over as well as much of experienced leadership. Not a good trend!
