They ask you to lie to patients

Pros

Enjoyed trying to help patients.

Cons

They instruct employees to tell patients, "yes, its covered" when in fact the Novasom testing may not be. This was routine. They are very aggressive about sending patients to collections. I have worked in healthcare a long time and have never seen a healthcare company do anything like this for a buck.

Pros

It was a job with a $70+ base in a down healthcare economy. The opportunity to help doctors is there, even though the services offered to physician customers is subpar at best.

Cons

Company sales force moral was never above below average. Product and services delivered could be so much better. Not a place most people were proud to work for. Oxygen and DME sales partners industry is well known for medicare/insurance fraud and can be scary to even be associated with for aspiring professionals.

Pros

Decent pay good health coverage Not bad if you don't mind lying to patients against their better interests Office is located in a nice area

Cons

The person in charge of patient scheduling does not know how to manage the staff without threatening them. You will be constantly written up and having your job threatened over mundane, harmless, mistakes. Sometimes a mere accusation will get you written up. Without proof. And when you prove them wrong the write up is not erased. Mandatory weekend shifts (which always change, so you can’t even get used to them) Sometimes they will verbally change the rules while you are away, never tell you when you get back, and write you up for getting it wrong. The monthly schedule is always inconsistent, and it’s never provided until the last possible minute, making it impossible to plan personal vacations or family functions. You are told to lie to patients about their insurance coverage unless they ask specifically. Making a sale is more important to Novasom than customer service, patient rapport, and the patient's well-being. You will be instructed to contradict and argue with sick and elderly patients if they don't want to use Novasom's test. Management will send you dozens of emails every day, changing all the rules. Then they expect you to somehow memorize it all, without giving you time to read it (you take the time, they reprimand you for “not doing your job”). If you fail to comply with a textbook’s worth of changes within 10 minutes of the email being sent, you will be harshly scolded for your gross incompetence and treated with disrespect. Information on a need-to-know basis. Departments are highly compartmentalized and team work is largely discouraged. No room for growth or learning.
