I have never seen so much nepotism, so blatantly, and with so little regard for the operations of the business itself. Nepotism is how you end up having to proofread and write all of your "lab lead's" formal correspondence because they cannot spell. If you intend to have a career here-- and you shouldn't-- it is better if you are already family before you get here. NovaStar is fundamentally a company whose only competitive edge is being the cheapest around. What this amounts to in practice is paying employees never more than $12, $15 if you are lucky, or in my case $22. I was fortunate enough to have options. The other side to committing yourself to being simply the cheapest-- not the best, just the cheapest-- is that you cannot afford to maintain or replace your equipment when it dies. All of this to say, if you've been in metrology long enough, or Quality Assurance of any kind, NovaStar is everything you would walk into an interview and literally leave before you got out of your car. And you wouldn't be wrong to do so.
