Pros

* Almost everyone is friendly and helpful - and there are a few gems of people who make an effort to be inclusive, be positive, crack a joke or two, and try to boost morale in their area * Fair and reasonable salary * Work-life balance is possible (depending on your role, and how you manage it) * IT tech support is consistently excellent * The organisation recognizes that changes are needed to improve processes and allocate responsibility and is working on improvements in many areas * It is possible to get training * It is possible to move to different roles across the organisation and internationally * You can have as much bottled Coke, Mineral water and orange juice as you can drink * Coffee machines make real coffee * Somewhat flexible start/finish times (some people work 8-4 instead of 9-5)

Cons

* The Australian market has been shrinking over the years and Corporate keep setting "stretch goals" that are demoralizing * Because the market keeps shrinking and ridiculous revenue goals keep being set, rounds of staff shedding across departments keep happening as a quick and easy fix to meet budget * Gloomy vibe across departments (see above) * As a general rule, don't expect to be promoted - but sideways movement is more achievable * Some processes are so broken or non-existant that people give up trying to fix them and nobody wants to deal with them. Makes it very hard to get some things done that ought to be able to be taken for granted. This situation is not contained in just one department.
