Pros

Intelligent, passionate co-workers and team members. Employees get free O'Reilly books. Beautiful location. Your dog can go with you to work. You get education and insight into the inner-workings of a privately held company (which gives you great appreciation for labor unions and business transparency.)

Cons

Tim O'Reilly is no longer the CEO, nor is he actively running the company that bears his name. It is currently run by an excess of unqualified upper management toadies who seem to seek only to pad their bonus checks, usually to the detriment of the company. The senior management team is dishonest, ego-driven, irrational, and does not understand the industries in which they venture. As a result of that ignorance, they lack vision as well. After being hired you will never get a significant raise, regardless of performance.

Pros

The O'Reilly brand although fading still opens a lot of doors. Use O'Reilly get a better job.

Cons

O'Reilly is managed by accountants, not leaders. It has the feel of a company trying to keep the ship from sinking rather than trying to forge ahead to new and exciting destinations. As such, every new project feels desperate and not very well thought out, these new projects are usually given just one year with no metrics or goals and then are given the axe without any explanation. People who volunteered to work on the new project are let go instead of given their old job where there were previously successful. Tim doesn't run the company and hasn't for a decade. Instead he gave the reigns to an accountant who has no long term vision for the company.
