Pros
Depending on your job, the salary is pretty decent, but the work is mainly contract, you still have to pay union dues. Some faculty and the students are great. They make an otherwise toxic workplace suffering from a low morale bearable.
Cons
Way too much toxicity in the work place; the management is seething with snakes and narcissists looking to inflate their egos and wallets and use you as their pawn and when they are desperately in need. What they forget is that in the end both the pawns and the king go back in the same box. When you bring an issue to them, it is discarded. People keep quitting or go on long term disability because they realize, sooner or later, this place is really poorly managed and toxic to your mental health. A very frustrating place to work in with some deeply questionable, unethical practices. Corrupt HR. Weak union.
