Pros

- Interesting client work - Great colleagues at the project level - Fantastic flexibility for work/life balance

Cons

- Benefits and pay no longer reflect a small company that is doing well financially - Appears to be turning into a body shop vice a high performance engineering outfit - Management has not been timely in communicating changes that impact pay, benefits, and other administrative functions - Too much of the business is predicated on a single client

Pros

Don't sweat the interview, I was hired for a technical position because knew one of the guys who worked there. I wasn't asked a single technical question.

Cons

Working at OGSystems is like working at Leidos or Booz Allen Hamilton, except with fewer resources. OGSystems didn't even have its own HR department until earlier this year. If you have a disability or chronic illness, be prepared to spend a lot more for health coverage. Come to OGSystems if you don't mind a health insurance plan with a $3000 deductible. The company has also been known to use bully-tactics to push out employees with special needs. There is exists a culture of servitude within OGSystems. Employees call it 'Omar Time', named after the CEO. This is essentially the expectation by OGSystems management for employees to attend company functions and then catch-up on contract hours without being paid for those hours. Some employees have told me that they've worked 12-14hr days for two weeks straight in order to make up hours without overtime pay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We believe better is possible and value your input to continue to make OGSystems a great place to work. Working at OGSystems is a unique experience. Companies in our market consider themselves defense contractors, we consider ourselves defense innovators. Our lean overhead and management allow for an agile approach in everything we do. We aim to be an organization that avoids bureaucracy, empowers our employees, and provides a leadership team that challenges everyone to “Own the Outcome.” These traits set us apart from other companies in our space. As a result of our rapid growth over the last year, we have implemented the infrastructure and resources to support continued growth, all while maintaining our founding values. OGSystems provides employees with offers three medical plan options to meet the various needs of our employees and their families. We offer a traditional PPO plan with lower deductibles and correspondingly higher premiums. We also offer two high deductible health plans with much lower premiums that allow employees the opportunity to save pre-tax dollars for major medical expenses using a health savings account (HSA). The HSA is owned by the employee with quarterly contributions made by OGS. It is important to note that the OGS health plans are not associated with claims experience or the current state of our employees’ health. We understand that employees have different financial situations and medical needs. Our multi-plan offering allows employees to select the plan that best meets their personal and familial needs. We feel so strongly about our commitment to our employees that we continue to offer one medical plan option at no cost to the employee. OGSystems is an equal opportunity employer that values an inclusive workforce and welcomes diversity of all people and ideas. Our policies and practices affirm and actively promote the rights of all individuals to equal opportunities without regard to their race, color, creed, religion, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or status as a disabled or Vietnam-era veteran.

Pros

Due to the fact that OGS makes its money by placing people on military contracts - compensation tends to be in line with market value. Reasonable comp

Cons

Incompetent senior management makes poor strategic decisions that negatively impact employees and the Company's financial stability. The level of incompetence is matched by an integrity deficit. For instance, during the recent acquisition of Urban Robotics, OGS reps promised employees that their jobs were secure only to layoff or fire more than half the personnel at the Portland office within months. This type of power play not only disrupted many lives with little warning, but also undermined the value of the acquisition. As further evidence of this point - upon last check there were 4 law suits actively pending between OGS and former or current employees.

At OGSystems we believe that the fight against terrorism demands a different kind of company – entrepreneurial, agile, open and driven to create opportunity for people passionate about innovation in national security. We don’t limit our contribution to the military to just our business. Our company gives back to the community through charitable contributions both of monetary value as well as personal time. We value our employees and do what we can to be competitive with regard to compensation and benefits. Integrity is a core value of OGSystems. Following the acquisition of Urban Robotics in early 2015, 100% of the UR employees remained employed with OGSystems. The recent reduction in force in our Portland office was due to a change in strategic focus as a result of our evolving business. These changes were not a result of last year’s acquisition. Each new year brings new opportunity and adjustments to our company. We recently unveiled an organizational structure that will provide enhanced leadership at all levels across the company. We know that adjustments will need to be made as time goes on for continued success as OGSystems evolves. We thank you for your candid opinion and suggestions. We value feedback, both positive and negative because it helps us to see things from various perspectives
