      Unfair business practices abound.

      Pros

      Decent benefits but eroding each year. Good for postdocs but not actual corporate employees.

      Cons

      Gossip central, favoritism, unfair business practices. Poor management - anyone who sticks around long enough can be a manager whether they have the skills or not. Employees who "speak up" will soon find themselves unemployed. Human resources department is very over staffed yet completely ineffective.

      Pros

      If you are looking for a job in accounting: no skills or education are needed here. You can be as wasteful as you want. There is no accountability. You can use Facebook all day and no one will say a word. Keep up with the latest gossip, there's plenty here. Jobs are really easy but boring. If you are a bigot, spew your ignorance and managers will cover it up for you.

      Cons

      Ignorance and discrimination are tolerated, encouraged and even rewarded. The company will just get rid of the person that speaks up about it instead. No growth opportunities. The finance jobs are just boring data entry jobs. Managers in finance are egotistical and have no people skills or no backbone. Good Ole' Gal network lives here. If you love to gossip, this is your dream job. Backstabbing co-workers and petty, silly, scared managers.
