Rewarding growth experience with supportive leadership
Pros
I joined OSI during a period of growth and change and it ended up being one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far. As a Senior People Development Specialist in People Operations, I was given a level of trust and ownership that is rare. Rather than maintaining existing programs, I had opportunities to build, challenge, improve, and influence how learning and development happens across the business. What stood out most to me was the support from leadership and the openness to ideas. I had exposure well beyond what I expected for my level, including opportunities to work across departments, partner directly with leaders, present recommendations, and bring forward changes backed by data and employee feedback. The environment pushed me to grow professionally. I developed skills across learning strategy, systems, analytics, change initiatives, manager enablement, facilitation, and large-scale employee development processes. There was space to experiment, improve, and genuinely contribute. The team culture is collaborative and people are approachable. I always felt trusted to own my work while still having support when needed.
Cons
Like many growing organizations, priorities can shift quickly and there are periods where multiple initiatives move in parallel. Sometimes that means balancing long-term improvements with immediate business needs. It can be demanding, but I also found that to be where a lot of growth happened.
