Pros

- They let you work 9 hour days and get every other Friday off. - As long as you get your hours in, make it to meetings and are able to collaborate with the team, you can shift your hours around as you need. You never have to work more than the required 40 hours per week. - Great people to work with - The developers here are all highly curious people, and exploring new technologies is something we love to do. - We get to work on a lot of different projects with different technologies. It's fun to be exposed to lots of technologies.

Cons

- Only 10 days PTO per year - Salaries are on the low end from what I can tell - Switching between so many projects can sometimes be tiresome. - Using so many different technologies can make you feel like you're spread thin in your skillset. - The way their business model is set up, the company only makes money when we're sitting at our desk logging hours, so there is some pressure to not spend too much time getting to know coworkers, researching/leveling up, etc.

Pros

- Very flexible schedule. Full-time on the 9's schedule, flexible hourly, or contract work all provide a good work-life balance. Remote work is very common too, and has been especially helpful during the pandemic. - Talented co-workers. It's the most skilled and competent team of developers I've ever worked with. While mostly grouped into project-based teams, any larger problems are quickly solved with group effort. - Good perks. Health, dental, 401k matching, fully-stocked break room, top of the line computers, monitors, desks, and chairs (seriously the chairs are fantastic) - Huge amount of autonomy and creative control for developers. If you can make a good case for a technology, you can use it on a project. Teams are small and focused, so you can call the shots on many decisions. - Focused work atmosphere. People come in to get work done and there aren't many distractions. Efficiency is a core value.

Cons

- Would not be a great place for junior developers. You really need to be a self-starter and know what you're doing to handle the expected workload. Someone completely green without at least a year or two of experience would probably have a hard time keeping up. - It can be a bit quiet. The focused work atmosphere is a double-edged sword sometimes. It's great for getting things done, but sometimes I wish things were a bit more social.

It's great to hear your thoughts on working at Objective! I appreciate you listing the specific things you think we're doing well as well as noting the things that could be a potential "con" for a person considering working here. Covid is going to make it a bit harder than normal to come up with solutions for increasing our "social" factor, but we'll work on it! Thanks again.
