Pros

Hardly any. The design team is nice that’s about it.

Cons

Overworked, the sales team has the upper hand, the president is awful, doesn’t believe in bonuses, you will be harassed when you are on PTO, lots of drama, bad reputation among the A&D community, relationship with Steelcase is not good.

Toxic Environments

Pros

Fast paced, helpful colleagues, adjustable height desks (not because they care but because they’d like to showcase the product to clients). When the president isn’t around you get to leave early, unless you’re a designer and have multiple unrealistic deadlines, which you will.

Cons

They’ll call the unrealistic deadlines a “fast paced, high intensity job” but really, it’s just lack of people for the job, because there’s such a huge turn out and so many people leave. There is a lot of bs talk on professionalism and respect, but the president does neither, which creates a culture of toxicity where it is okay to treat each other like trash. There’s a lot of manipulation, fake people, and trash talking behind backs. Most management people won’t step up and call things out because they are afraid of the president, meaning things will likely never change.

Pros

There are many good skills one can learn working at Office Environments.

Cons

To start, the management in this company is horrible at least it was at their Charlotte office. Employees in this company are seen as pawns especially their warehouse and installation staff, it is absolutely appalling how a company of this size with its current standards treats its staff. Be prepared to work through a hiring agency for as long as your with the company (employees of 10 plus years still through agency) There are no opportunities for growth in the company, employees who have stuck throughout the years are rewarded with minimal raises and the same low level health benefits that are provided by the hiring agency as mentioned before. As of late, the labor staff has been asked to leave as soon as a job is completed resulting in less than 40 hours per week, meanwhile emails are sent out boasting of monthly earnings and sales achievements. Office work is just as bad, as their is a constant game of he said she said when things get out of control which they often do equaling a highly stressful work environment
